A practical guide to portable tire inflators
A portable inflator can help with routine tire top-ups. Choosing one means understanding the tires you need to service and the way the inflator is powered.

Use the vehicle’s pressure guidance
Find the recommended pressure for the vehicle, tires and load. Measure under the conditions specified by the vehicle manufacturer. The number printed as an inflator’s maximum pressure is not your tire target.
Compare the complete setup
Look at the hose length, valve connection, power source and adapters. Confirm that the product is suitable for your tire size and read the operating limits, including any rest periods.
Know when inflation is not the solution
A visibly damaged tire or repeated pressure loss needs inspection. Do not rely on an inflator to make an unsafe tire roadworthy. Keep the instructions and contact details for assistance with your kit.
